Don't know if he'll be taking the field to face us, but it's going to be an emotional day for him and fans. Everytime I think Thierry now and his love for Arsenal, Adebayor seems to pop into my head. Thierry was his mentor yet the finished product is a total cunt. Don't need to remind you of how he went out of his way to celebrate his goal. Nosirrr.
I personally think that Thierry is a model pro, and you give your best for whichever team you're on, regardless of previous connections. It's going to be the same for Cesc, so if Thierry plays, I'd expect Henry to do his job.

I think we're more interested in Jay-Z's reaction to Adebayor pimping off his wife, using her to symbolise AC Milan. Vermaelen didn't break anything in his leg. Which is splendid. I thought it would have been nonsensical if he did after being rested at Stoke so perhaps that tactic did work. If you'd compare the 2 injuries the team picked up at Villa, Eduardo is completely out of contention for the United game. Vermaelen with a suspected serious injury could return.

Of course, they too think that the FA moves in slow motion. No, they don't. Experiences with Moneybags Adebayor and his stamp on RVP tells me that retribution is swift when it comes to being charge with violent conduct, even if you poach video evidence (from Mascherano) to support your case. It's really stupid on Ferdinand's part but not surprising. If he were available for United then they'll most probably field their first choice centre back partnership of Ferdinand and Vidic. Good news for us. Vidic should be back though, and partner Evans.
Wenger also stated that Eboue and Song are back in London as planned. I think 2 more days of rest from them till United is a good thing. Had the game been on a Saturday then chances of them featuring will be slim. Sol Campbell has himself fired up to face United and knows that he faces the task of stopping Wayne Rooney. One man does not make a team though, but we still need to stop him. Cut off supply to him and he'll start lumbering back into his own half to try and nick the ball from us and that makes him less effective. We need to keep possession well and get our passing game going. Bendtner's back and despite his inability to shoot, being tall makes a world of difference. We can play the ball off him and bring the other midfielders into the attack, of course, if he doesn't give the ball away as a result of a crappy return pass. We all know what to expect. No other choice though, because he happens to be the only striker left.
If Vermaelen can't play, I'd put Campbell in. Song needs to be in that holding role. If Diaby is scared fit too then it's obvious that he partners Cesc. The front 3 will be Arshavin, Bendy and Tomas. I hope Denilson doesn't play. Every effort on his part to win the ball back from the opposition have been half-hearted lately and it's irritating me. Either you're in or you're out. There's no in between.
It should be a crackin game at United. Maybe a game against Villa didn't fire up the lads as much. United, should.
So. Arsenal are top of the league for the first time in a long long time. And for once, we're the ones who don't have that game in hand because it is all but PLAYED.
And we've got Bolton out of our system as well. 2-0 at the Reebok, now 4-2 at home. Both results, not without toil and determination, more so for the game at home.
Cesc Fabregas described his team as hungry, and boy did they show it.
Not from the start though. I said earlier that Bolton will come at us once more and they did, this time, they were rewarded with 2 goals. 2 early goals. The only difference was that we always looked like scoring and the second goal, was a gift from Denilson.
Then my Tomas scored a beautiful right-footed shot to pull one back just before half time and that was highly important to keep the momentum of the team going. You always knew that the lads were going to come back and win it. Going into the game, I think everyone in the team knew that they needed a 2-goal winning margin to go above Chelsea. At 2-0 down, you got to be able to summon incredible mental strength and belief to go for 4 goals. Regardless of opposition, pulling back 2 to level terms is difficult enough. Tonight, the lads did 4.
The common misconception about Arsenal is that the team is young and inexperienced. Yes, the team is young. But they've been playing with each other for a long long time and I wouldn't be surprised if part of their belief was built on coming back from 2-0 down at the Reebok 2 seasons ago to win 3-2.
Post match reactions are going to hinge on the Gallas foul on Mark Davis in the build up to Cesc's equaliser. It was a poor foul and shouldn't have happened, but if we're honest, even if we didn't get our equaliser then, it was all the more coming. If that goal was a difference between a Bolton win or draw then I guess it should be open to more debate but we won, hands down.
What teams need to know is that when you play Arsenal, the last thing you should do is to rest on your laurels. Even if you have a 2 goal lead. We'll come right back at you.
And Vermaelen ended his recent goal drought (heh) to make it 3-2 from a corner. He showed real determination to get that in and Arshavin made it 4-2 and sent us to the summit of the premier league. It was more than the icing on the cake. It was everything. Arsene Wenger's 2 signings who made a difference with their goals and their performance.

Captain Fabulous and the Verminator gave the post match interview and finally, Arsene Wenger threw the fit we all know he is capable of.

The first half was piss-poor. As the boss put it, we weren't winning the 50-50s and the commitment level wasn't there for a big game like this. He quite rightly blasted the dudes and they woke up at half time.

That own goal came out of no where but it's down to the pressing and getting in behind the defence. Walcott put good pressure on the defence and I think he might prosper better as the lone front man instead of on the wings. The defenders would be more aware to his presence and that might result in openings for the rest of the attack.
Or an own goal by his fellow Englishman. It's kinda funny when you look at it from a different angle. Walcott plays on the English right wing while Johnson at right back. Aren't they supposed to link up well? They did good today. Fabio will only be proud of one though.
After that it was all Arsenal. Wenger got through to them and they pushed on with more purpose while Liverpool simply wore away. Must have been trying to show Xabi Alonso how much they missed him while he yawned away.
When Diaby came on I thought we might throw it away but it didn't happen. Somehow. Him being tall and being able to exert a physical presence isn't really significant to me because he is Diaby. Yup. And now, since returning from injury, he's going to slot right back into the midfield won't he? And our weak link is back. Boo.
Song and Vermaelen did fantastic today. I have no higher praise. Song was there to nullify any Liverpool attack and got stuck in really well. he didn't make lame challenges like Mascherano just for the sake of breaking our rhythm. He wanted the balls to jam start our attack and that's pure commitment. Mascherano had a good game though, right until he got a yellow card and then he gets a little more cautious. Of course, Denilson gave him a kick in the butt cheek. That must have been painful. Removing Mascherano helped us on quite a bit since there isn't that little prick to frustrate our attack.
Between Song and Mascherano, I'd take Song any day.
The Verminator took responsibility for every set piece, as at Stoke last weekend. He took it upon himself to clear the damn ball from danger and did really well. I couldn't count how many balls he got to and kept out. Another showing of pure commitment.
He must have realised that he can't trust the one behind him to come out to punch any shit without looking for protection from referees that aren't always given. Damn you Almunia.
Traore did really well today as well. He dealt well when up against Torres and held his ground. Starting to make that left back slot his own now when the front two are out. He's an asset to the team and is taking his chances well. Clichy coming back will be a boost too, and knowing that there are capable players who are fighting for that spot should make him a better player.
You have no idea how much I miss Jens Lehmann. He made Almunia work for that no. 1 shirt. It is no coincidence that his best season happened with Jens piling the pressure.
Damn you Almunia again. He gets shittier and shittier with every damn game.
So, all in all, a great win. I honestly didn't think we would turn it around. To be fair, Liverpool made it easy. Finally, a win against a big 4 team. After losing to Man Utd and Chelsea, we needed to beat Liverpool. The implications of a loss today would have been massive. We would be further from the league leaders and not making the most out of slips from Chelsea and Man Utd.
And Arshavin. He does love scoring at Anfield. What a goal to win the game. I'd imagine him enjoying this one better than last season's 4 because we won. That's a team player for you. I love how he left Reina rooted while his shot went in with power. Amazing stuff.

Okay so, there's a game tomorrow. The lads travel to Wolves, while Chelsea meet Man Utd. I've always wondered about the fixtures. It's pretty darn amazing. It probably happens by chance but hey, look at the situation - the top 2 clash, giving the 3rd in the table a chance to make up some ground should one of them slip up, which is bound to happen. Of course, the ideal result when big teams clash is a draw, so both teams lose 2 points. But whatever, this is a situation Man Utd got into so much last season. They had no lack of opportunities to "make up ground". I kinda like our fixture list this campaign.
Confidence should be high and Fabregas is banging in the goals like nobody's business to be on par with Van Persie in the club's scoring charts. I suppose the final layer of his development does lie in goalscoring and he's developing well. It's pretty scary to know that he's just 22 and has a long way to go in his footie career and his potential is boundless. He sure if enjoying his football and his captaincy. I still find it hilarious that the captain gets to decide short sleeves or long sleeves every game and the rest of the team will have to comply. I mean, Arshavin in short sleeves with gloves is pretty hilarious, and Song with long sleeves rolled up just as much.
Wenger has no intention of rotating the centre back positions, allowing Vermaelen and Gallas to own. I think stability in that position is pretty important. Everytime Gallas starts limping or is tackled roughly my heart sinks quite a bit. Last season, after he got over the whole loss of captaincy thing, he really stepped it up and played really well. Then when he had to go off injured and miss the rest of the season it coincided with that horrible slump. Nevermind that Djourou who came to fill in got injured in the following game. Without a doubt, Gallas is a top class defender and a model pro. The way he's handled the events in his career is admirable. His partnership with Vermaelen is fantastic. They kept Peter Crouch quiet even with the difference in height. You know, Crouch who got his first career hattrick against Arsenal. Of course, he was playing for Liverpool, who practice long balls only every training hence their service was definitely waaayyy better than Sp*rs can ever be.
So, no injuries to Thomas and William please. They're doing so well. I hope Wenger talking about it didn't just put a hex on them.
In other news, I have Football Manager 2010! It's kinda crappy so far. I mean, Hull City is really strong in there. That's shitty.
Robin Van Persie has a girl. Dina Layla Van Persie. Robin doesn't do tattoos so there's no fear of an ugly one.

Nothing much on the Arsenal front, besides Thomas Vermaelen being player of the month for September. utterly deserving. October will be another issue altogether. Cesc is going to fight him for it.
It's only October and there are tons of transfer rumours and they're just pesky on the newsnow feed. As it stands, the Verminator came in to replace 2 players and he's doing brilliantly so we don't need anyone new. Besides that defensive midfielder when Song leaves for the ACN. I suspect, the returning Nasri might assume that role if he's going to continue where he left off. I still think he's a much better offensive player but who knows? Having an attack minded player mopping up in front of the defence could mean more goals, at both ends of course.
The question is, would you prefer to watch a 1-0 win or a 3-2 win?
I personally don't like leaking goals.
But a win's a win, however the score. So. I think I'd be glad for all the victories the team plays for.
So, I did myself a big big favour over the weekend. I finally got the blue away kit. I think it's gorgeous. Even though the white one is like the same version in a different colour, it's getting all too juicy to resist. Besides the part where it's Sp*rs colour.
And yes, all I am looking forward to is 31st October when we play Sp*rs.
A Very Welcomed Game at Home, with a Very Welcomed Win
Business as usual?
Quite rightly so. A 4-0 win at home to Wigan and it was the kind of result we should be hitting. Might get a little bit more insight as to how Man Utd can win so many titles - a fluke win does increase belief, and they've had plenty of that. I can hardly count how many we have.
Everyone collectively played better, and Eboue was staking a genuine claim for that first team spot on the right of a 4-3-3 attack. Performance of his career. Never have I witnessed a better display in any game. He was hardworking and got his head down to the job and dribbled like a master past defenders and he didn't dive - he got the genuine fouls. A pity we didn't profit further from those delicious freekicks.
One reason for this spectacle is probably the reception he got from the corresponding fixture of last season, where he was brought on as a sub and subsequently booed off. This time, when he got off, he got off to an entirely different response from the Emirates crowd and he'll be contented that he did the best to his abilities to earn it, unlike the one who calls him his brother.
Defensively, it was still quite scary. Our win was never in doubt, but the clean sheet was. Mannone should be keeping his place in goal for the visit of West Brom in the Carling Cup on Wednesday morning so this would do a world of good for his confidence. This is probably the longest run in the first team he'll be getting in a long long while and so far, he's been scary but generally up to task. One for the future.
Don't get me started on Almunia. He seems like he's embarking on this unfortunate decline and he needs to step and and show that he is worthy to hold the fort between the sticks for a club like Arsenal. Adorable as he is, sometimes he's just not good enough and I hope that goalkeeping position isn't the weakest link this season.
We've had enough of weak links here and there. The season is now. Make it happen.
Robin did his fair share up front and being the lone striker in a 4-3-3 can often be frustrating. Eduardo did very well on the left side and Cesc was constantly pumping balls for him to run onto and he looked dangerous throughout. They key to every good attack is the ability to get in behind the defenders and we sure managed a good deal of that today. Really pleasing to watch. I just think Robin deserved a goal for his troubles but hey, he did provide that delivery for the Verminator to score.
He happens to have very good tongue action. Just look out for it. It's what the girls call tongue porn.
What an asset to the club he is turning out to be. He was denied a thunderbolt of a goal at City and this time he made no mistake and provided the second, that gave the defence breathing space, the defence being him. It is little wonder why he was the Ajax captain. He is a person who doesn't speak much and does the talking on the pitch. Gallas looks like he's enjoying himself having him as a centre-back partner, at least way more than Toure. Verm took charge when it was 1-0 (thanks to him too) and made it 2-0. He did both defending and attacking to perfection.
How much more can you ask of a player?
I wouldn't be surprised if he takes player of the month for the second month running. If he keeps this up, player of the season maybe, just like how my bff managed to say 'player of the season' when she meant month.
And then we have Rosicky. Oh gawd. I love him to death. And the funniest part of the game was when Melchiot caught his shirt with his studs and managed to rip it apart. I laughed till there were tears. And there he still went about, with his shirt flapping, playing the game he so loved. Cesc looks so happy when Tomas is on the pitch.
What if Cesc had both Arsha and Tomas?
Cesc and Tomas jig the ball to each other with such understanding it's something we so sorely missed ever since he was out. I get the feeling that he never formed such telepathy with another someone in Arsenal except when Arsha came in. Those 2 still have more to work on but Cesc and Tomas are so slick I just love how they know each other want the ball to be played to them. It's as perfect as the pieces of a jigsaw.

So back to Manu Eboue. He is a goal stealer. If dudu is a goal poacher, Manu is a goal stealer. He stole Arsha's goal. Now he steals Eduardo's goal. I thought it was hilarious. I mean, I would give it to Eduardo but the club has credited Eboue. Dudu prolly kicked his ass on the way to the dressing room.
Cesc wrapped up the win with our fourth but he didn't celebrate. It looked as though he had a little knock and was quite sulky. Perhaps he's feeling a little frustrated at how everyone tends to target him in challenges since they probably have id-ed him as the chief string puller in the team. Probably have to find a good way to deal with that.

I have to mention that Diaby played well and Song was solid as ever.
The upcoming game should feature a very very young squad in the Carling Cup. Don't know if Bendtner will be part of that, but Rambo and Wilshere sure will be. And I'm putting money on Sanchez Watt too. It seems like Wenger is starting to ease him into the first team as well. Would be lovely to see Gibbs play.

I was at Myeong Dong yesterday and at one of the underpasses, there was this shrine for Man Utd. I obviously did not photograph it since I don't like them but you get that Park is on every corner. The funniest thing though, is that they chose the most unflattering shot of him and reproduced it many many. Looks more like a fuck face more than anything.

I didn't walk up to him but it is always heart-warming to meet someone in an Arsenal shirt in a foreign country. He was wearing the Nasri kit. A gooner amongst all the United cunts is most welcomed.

Speaking of which, the transfer window is closing, like, tomorrow. It's pretty quiet on the Arsenal side of things and we all know quite well that no one else will be coming through. I'm not too worried, except that we all feel that we could still deal with a few reinforcements. If no one comes in and no one goes, I'll be pretty glad that Senderos is staying. I'm still a fan of him and I believe his future should be at Arsenal. Who knows, he could do a Flamini, only that he has more than 1 year on his contract. Besides, Gallas will be ageing and at some point Djourou and Senderos will be fighting for that place beside Va Va Verm. He is first choice, with good reason. We all love him already.

I'm enjoying the best shopping weather of my life at 22 degrees. I have raided The Face Shop 3 times already and it's still not enough. I guess it's pretty smart to give out samples for us to try on the spot and go back to buy. Singaporeans and freebies is an equation that works.

Sp*rs who, hate Arsenal the most simply because they can't catch up to where we are. Hell, they didn't make the Europa league either. We'll see how far they'll go next term when they have full concentration on the league, and most definitely, the Carling Cup.
Right here you have some statistics. They're interesting to say the least. Sp*rs hatred and Chelsea hatred are on par with each other. I don't know about the Chelsea part but we all know that Cuntey Cunt is a major contributing factor. Other than that, I suppose the rest of the team are a bunch of cuntbags as well so that we know.
Personally, I don't really rank my hatred. How do you hate something less when you hate it all the same? Doesn't make sense. They probably should distinguish between hatred and dislike.
I dislike Stoke but I don't hate them. I hate Hull City. I hate Manchester United, Liverpool, Sp*rs. I dislike Sp*rs because I am too lazy to hate them. They kinda make good the position of Clown of the league. Never seem to fail to come up with several jokes. They are indeed a joke, like starting almost every campaign at the bottom of the table, sort of battling relegation for a teeny little while until new manager comes in and gets them a top 10 finish.
There's a bit of football tonight. Gibbs and Walcott will be in action for the U21s. Gibbs would most certainly start at left back but there should be some doubts about Theo since Stuart Pearce is a cuntbag. Some funny Swedish Blackburn dude I've never heard of or saw the need to take note of has went to the papers to public diss Theo. I thought that was funny. That's probably the part I hate most, save for old man Silvestre and probably the clown Eboue. Did you know he makes records in Ivory Coast? If his football career doesn't work out he has a plan B. It's been rather quiet on the Adebayor front and this fellow just pisses me off on football manager. You can run around dancing when he scores for Arsenal but the goal will just be ruled for offside.
Another part of the game that is somewhat true.
Then it's quite difficult not to go touch the FM editor application and tweak things a little. What did I do? I erased every damned injury on all Arsenal players (Fab, Diaby, Dudu, Bischoff, ROSICKY) and set their injury proneness to like 2/20.
AND THEN YOU HAVE A FULLY FIT ARSENAL SQUAD.
Which exists only in a computer game. Rosa's injury proneness is like 16/20. Might as well make it 20/20.
Anyway the point is, with everyone fully fit, it's difficult to pick the first 11. There is quite a bit of depth in the squad and one that we will never enjoy in real life.
That is just saddening. We're not short on quality, we're just short on luck with injuries.
Which made me realise that Arshavin never got injured big time throughout his season. Besides the stitches he had to get from the Blackburn game and his lack of fitness when he first came. Let's hope next season will continue this way. He really changed the second half of Arsenal's season and it's still a dream to know that he'll be here for a long long time. Still feels like we got him on loan only!!
Filling in for football is my dramas. It's been forever since I watched a Singapore one but who can miss out on a Fann Wong one ahaha. (to many people's dismay I know) Being dragged out on week nights means missing episodes and guess what? Tudou has people (i.e. Singaporeans) who uploaded the series to the web. I am amazed beyond words. Chinese of the world watch Singapore dramas?
They'll always be fed with one consistent feature of Singapore shows:

*siao = crazy
Noone really knows that the truly crazy ones are those who seem normal and live among us.
At least we were spared whatever Nasri nonsense. The long Nasri nonsense was particularly frenetic because he's a cutie. May he never learn English ever because French is sexier and is the language of Arsenal anyway.
There are disputes about his height and I'm lol-ing all the way at it. Well Arsenal is quite the team of shortys if you count Almunia, Adebayor and Bendtner out. We never really challenge effectively in the air if Ade and Nicky wasn't in the picture. I do suppose challenging effectively would mean somewhere close to 1.9m since that's just about the height of Ade and Nicky.
182cm doesn't fit the bill then?

Other stuff in his factfile says that he is 23. Now pinch me real hard. He's not 16 is he? He's too old to be signing for Arsenal. Grandpa Arshavin does not approve.

This is like whatever we've been begging for. Now we still need to continue as beggars until we get the appropriate defensive midfielder to partner Cesc.
Then we'll be waiting for the 15th of August 2009 for it to all begin.
So yaaaaaaaay, I came home from my night out to amazing news. Just when I complained that Arsenal.com was annoying me from a lack of announcement of new signings everytime I hit refresh. Heh.
