The Sheer Timing of this, is irritating
I am incensed.

Rosicky and Eduardo have left the treatment room. For once in GODONLYKNOWSHOWLONG, the injury list contained no one.

Until disaster chose to strike during training and Samir Nasri is now the first casualty of the upcoming season.

I would run around and trash about if I could but nothing's going to change anything about it.

This young dude made the switch from France last season and it was a good first season to have under his belt, one which would make way for an even better second season.

AND DISASTER STRIKES.

Is there a hex on Arsenal where the medical staff just refuse to go out of a job? I mean, wouldn't they love to take a paid holiday and never have to treat anyone?

Frustrated, frustrated.

Samy had a 44-game outing last term and it was fantastic not to be completely ridden by injuries. With such a serious injury now I wonder if there are any players out there who broke their legs and managed to not have their playing career dogged by related ailments.

I was in high spirits today, looking forward to the Austrian friendy which is coming up later and then this totally took the mood away.

I suppose there are certain positives which can be drawn. A replacement is not necessary, but Wenger should be looking into the odds of Rosicky staying fit while Nasri's out. I get the feeling that Tomas will be joining his bedside in due time. One less midfielder, albeit a creative one. We really still need our midfield enforcer.

A serious injury like that to a teammate can influence the mood of the entire team and it's a good thing it happened in pre-season. I don't think I need to bring up the effects of Eduardo's freak disaster.

I would scream OH GOD PLEASE NO right now but it won't help. In situations like these, even God can't help except to heal the leg faster.

So please, work your magic. If it were left up to the Arsenal medical staff 2-3 months out would mean 5-6 months.

I miss you so so much.

This totally killed me. My favourite dinosaur and my favourite player.

This is the part where I ditch Arsha for a little bit.

I want to hug him too..

What is this Europe you speak of?
To think it was done so quickly.

It's bye bye Ade, off to Citeh.

He's going to fly up to S. Africa to join up with his teammates who are on a pre-season tour. He pulled off a sky blue shirt for his unveilling and tbh, it looked weird. Not being a racist or colourist or something but light blue is a bad colour for African players.

I wonder how it feels to ditch the glorious red and white for a less than appealing blue.

So, once again, this summer, the team loses an established first team player.

Last year was the most horrible with Flam and Gilberto being the main people who would have really changed the way our season turned out.

This time, Adebayor's gone and Arsene Wenger mentioned that he already wanted to leave last summer. Did his 30 goals for Arsenal right after Henry leave make him think he was the best in the world deserving a bigger pay cheque and a move to a club he decides is bigger than Arsenal?

30 goals and he didn't feel challenged enough to add to that and be on par to be an Arsenal legend.

To think that Thierry Henry was his mentor. I'm wondering what Henry told him when Adebayor told him he wanted to move to Citeh. Pretty bad portrayal of his ambition imo.

Whatever it is, he is no Thierry Henry and looking at our current crop of players, I can't say there's anyone who would be close to being touted as the next Henry. Whatever we have, they're a special bunch with special abilities and With Rosicky and Eduardo back it could mean a whole different way of attacking instead of just trying to beat the offside trap. The technical level is very high and when scoring beautiful goals are concerned, Vela and Dudu are high up on the charts. Remember dudu's amazing beach-soccer-ish goal? Marvelous. Like in Football Manager, Vela likes to lob the keeper. I lol-ed at that one in FM editor.

So. City now has Adebayor, Tevez, Santa Cruz, Robinho, Benjani, Bellamy and Bojinov as their up-front men. Everton are pretty smart asses for taking the opportunity to snag Jo for free on another season long loan. 7 strikers, albeit Robinho probably being played in a advanced midfield role. I don't think a lot of them would be happy to be sitting on the bench. The main concern of players this transfer window is the upcoming world cup and evidently, players who get more playing time for their clubs under their belt are more likely to be selected.

Mark Hughes will have his work cut out. Maintaining dressing room chemistry and then having to bring out the best of his players will be such an issue. Take Adebayor and his newly expanded fat pay packet. He has signed a 5-year deal which guarantees $ for the next 5 years, $ which would see him through to his oh-so-important retirement. Remember last season where he wanted a pay increase to add to his retirement fund. Now he has it. Is there anything to play for?

Perhaps these players all want to shoot their club to the all important Champion's League qualification. If their predecessors have showed them well, they would realise that it is not so simple. Take Everton for example. They sniffed the Elite league of Europe at the expense of Liverpool (sth Sp*rs can't do to us) and struggled at the group stages. Teams who have been in Europe for extended lengths of time are simply seeded amongst the first for the draws so in the group stages, they most likely face just one strong European team with 2 being relatively easier. The problem here with teams like City being in Europe is that they will draw the bigger teams of Europe and going through to the knock out stages would be a mean task.

If they had to pit themselves against another big spending team like Real Madrid, they would lose horribly. Same footballing principles, different pool of players available.

Before lesser teams than the big 4 reaches Europe, they already have their problems. When they are in Europe, their problems will mount. Why bother.

It is no fluke that each season the big 4 easily reaches the knockout stages.

So, what did I do with FM editor?

I sent Arsenal youngsters on loan to say, Crystal Palace for about 4 seasons. Then I take control of CP and get them promoted to the PL. Thereafter, they'll receive the high-flying tag in the PL as I take them to Europe. And it was a horrible task to take them far in that competition since they draw the big boys so early in the group stage.

My point of doing that is to give valuable first time experience to the Arsenal kids ok. It's quite fun. FM editor is the best part of FM I'd say. I sent C. Ron to Tampines Rovers on a 10-year contract on $200 a week. Should do the same to Adebayor. Of course, as the next season approaches, people bid 20m for C. Ron and the message "The board has accepted the transfer on your behalf since it is too good to turn down" will come up, for something like that. Twats of the Tampines Rovers board. Never see $ before lol.

This transfer window is going to shape the next FM 2010 a shitload more. If I knew better, Citeh players are going to complain to the media about a lack of first team football and then confront Mark Hughes.

Lulz.

28 Days to kick off
What am amazingly long hiatus, one that is set to continue, unnanounced, much.

But yeah, it gets boring having to analyse transfer nonsense when it's really, just pure nonsense.

What's new is that Adebayor should be off to Man City and we should get a good deal of $ from that to buy our much needed midfield enforcer.

What BBC reports keep emphasising is that if Ade makes the move, Citeh would have bought 3 players from the top 6 clubs. Should have included that Man U didn't get a cent for Tevez. Anyway, they still have a lot more rotting in the bank from the Ronaldo transfer. A pity Benzema snubbed them. At this point, it doesn't really matter to consider if Arsenal stood a chance too, had Wenger been aware of his availability.

Other than all this, pre-season is officially starting today with the routine friendly match at Underhill.

Tomas Rosicky is set to play.

After being out for such a long time.

I got the 2008/09 season review already and it made me so pissed watching it. It is without a doubt, compiled by a gooner which makes it more infuriating. I mean, they even showed Adebayor kissing the badge after scoring the meaningless penalty in the Emirates Cup. And then there was the way Stoke City injured all our players in the game they won 2-1. Followed by all the draws and the misery. I couldn't get past the first half of the season because I was too pissed to continue on, granted, when I reach the month of January Andrei appears. Never did I realise how huge that glimmer of hope was. If he never came it could be a whole different ending to the season.

That was one hugely intelligent piece of transfer dealing. And he's the one player who turned our entire season around.

What remains to be seen now is how he will impact the club from start to finish, in every competition. Arsha's a winner and he will be a star. Adebayor can leave and we would not be short in the attacking department. With the absence of the Adebayor kind of striker, Arsha can be then deployed in free role behind the striker, a striker who bothers working hard to get the ball while being intelligent enough to stay onside and be in the right place to receive a sneaky pass to break the offside trap etc etc. We have poachers like that who want to play for the Arsenal.

All we need now to to get that midfield general to partner Cesc and everything else will fall into their places.

At the beginning of the season review they show you all the players who have departed and it really was a good indication of how huge a step backwards it was for the club. Hleb we all celebrated his departure. Even if he has been with us last season, it would be no different. Flamini was the most painful, and Gilberto would have been the difference. An older head and a accomplished player. Our fortunes would be so different.

It is as though transfer dealings is a game of roulette. Sign the right player (including contract renewals, evidently) and leg go of the right player and it can make or break your season.

It is interesting to note how many centre backs we have at the club now since no one has departed with the addition of Thomas Vermaelen.

This time, letting go of the right player means Silvestre. I don't think he'll be very happy to be on the bench since it is clear that even Alex Song is ahead of him for that central defensive spot. The fans do not like him and Arsene Wenger could well be defiant once more and keep him.

So, till more happening news. I totally am going to be away for the bulk of August with at least 3 trips out of town and another routine one, to my favourite Hong Kong. I'll get my jerseys and training kits on the cheap once again. A pity I haven't found anywhere that does shirt printing too. If you had to ask if I were buying fake jerseys you ought to receive a smack on the head, a real hard one. There is no point in fake kits. Might as well get a plain white Tee and spray paint Arsenal across the chest area and wear it out. Save me all the trouble while the world will know of my allegiance.

Now to pray that the typhoons continue to be absent.

Cashley Strikes Again
Cuntley Cunt is pulling off the same shit he did at Arsenal, now at Chelsea. Bad things happen when you accept incarnations of Judas, as with Manchester United and Michael Owen but we don't have a solid conclusion to that one, yet.

To Cashley though, it is nearing one.

He wants to be on par with the highest paid in the club, once again.

Without a doubt, RM have no trouble meeting his pay expectations nor the transfer fee. In a team built for mercenaries, he'll fit in perfectly. Just not sure how he'll be able to bargain for Ronaldo and Kaka's wages.

Obviously, he and Hleb have a lot in common. They cook lies about the weather and the language barriers to engineer moves away from Arsenal when in truth, they are just excuses. Before Cashley left, he spoke about there being too much foreign languages spoken in the dressing room. At Chelsea he probably got more English but how about a move to Madrid? English will sure as hell not be the most common language there. Try Spanish.

All the transfer gossip has died off a bit, mostly linking Adebayor with a move away. That should materialise quite soon if it is going to be happening at all. Whatever the case, Wenger already has a back up in mind.

The more worrying issue now is not Adebayor leaving but the arrival of a midfield general. Melo is out of the question now and there aren't really that many names popping up. We know that Ivan Glazidis and Wenger are doing their jobs so I'll just sit tight and wait for it to happen.

Please happen.

I don't know if anyone of us can stand another season where Denilson and Song are to be depended on when they aren't ready.

Alrighty then. Enjoy the rest of your Saturday.

new contracts, United to snap up Owen
We have two players livin' the dream.

That be Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere, both who have signed long term contracts with better deals. This, coming right after Arsene Wenger released 9 youngsters, including Amaury Bischoff. Now I don't see the point in signing him last summer. Did Wenger hope he'll be our midfield guru?

Anyway, I like Aaron. Firstly, he's a must better than another Aaron, last name Carter, who is a douche. Does anyone care that he's making a comeback? I don't think he can rival Jesse McCartney in the lolishota-con genre. Gotta see how Dev Patel performs as Zuko in The Last Airbender before starting to mope about how Jesse McCartney should be Zuko instead.

If you haven't watched the Nickelodeon series Avatar: The Last Airbender, you should.

Then you'll know all our Zuko pain.

So yes, Aaron Ramsey. When he looks like this you have to keep him around.

Maybe Arsene Wenger does hire on looks. Even Verm looks like a younger, better looking Vidic who talks like Robin Van Persie. It might be an Ajax thing.

I think we might see more of Wilshere next season. Last term he only really played in the first half, mostly featuring in the Carling Cup. I suppose when the boys crashed out of it there wasn't anything else to play for at the turn of the year for them so he joined the U18s for their campaign and it worked out so well. Their FA youth cup match came after the senior team closed shop so it was nice to be able to watch Arsenal anyway, and cheer on the lads. Steve Bould did an amazing job.

There is nothing I hate about Arsenal really. Liam Brady is overseeing our Youth Academy. Steve Bould is managing the youth teams. Pat Rice is assistant manager. These are Arsenal greats who aren't chasing the glamour of being the frontman but in the backroom, patiently nurturing the club's crop of youngsters in order for them to make the step up to Arsene Wenger's squad.

I suppose I could call this an anti-cunt system but we already have a product called Cashley. Let's hope he remains the only one.

Ivan Glazidis has never failed to wow us since joining and I gotta love the man. He is sarcastic yet does not blatantly use sarcasm. He puts our perspectives in nicer ways to ward off certain unwanted oily Russian who wants to shake up the board room.

I am sure that our fans do not believe Arsenal is better served by abandoning its self-sustaining model and putting itself in the hands of owners upon whom it is dependent. They want success, and our challenge is to provide it in a model that preserves the traditions and values of Arsenal football club.

We don't have to jump on the Real Madrid bandwagon.

Another club who isn't, is United, who is set to sign Michael Owen from under the noses of Stoke and Hull. I thought this was funny. His brochure actually got to United. It worked. Amazing huh. They couldn't get Benzema so they settled for Owen and saved many moolah.

So yeah, Ramsey and Wilshere are going to be part of this Arsenal future. I can't help but snigger at Liverpool who have to sign Glen Johnson for 17 million just to make up the numbers for home-grown players. To think the stupid non-gooners actually thought Arsenal would have a ball of a time with the home grown rule. I think we're the club who has the least trouble with that.

Benzema what?!
Who created Benzema to Arsenal?

It's not Benzema to United either.

It's Benzema to Real Madrid.

I think it's a complete mistake, judging that he's only 21 and if he wanted to stay in that team he'll have to hit it off spectacularly almost right away.

People like Ronaldo and Kaka are established enough so it's okay if they turn out to be flops in the Madrid system.

Look at poor Huntelaar. His career at Madrid does look over unless he moves on to another club. Hell, he isn't even first choice for the Dutch team.

Pellegrini is going to have his work cut out. If he's not up to task he'll face the sack. Managers seem to be the most disposable things in football.

Anyway, nothing much on the Arsenal front worth mentioning. I get that there isn't much to be said unless it's like, set in stone or something, like va va Verm.

It's July! June is over. I don't remember liking July either.

Lol at another white strip
The first thing I do when I wake up, is to check for Arsenal news. And that's probably common knowledge.

But yeah, I wasn't expecting any exciting and thrilling updates of like perhaps, a new signing, but got to see Arsenal's third away kit.

It white. And it's just a white version of the blue one. We're going to have a stripey season.

I thought the yellow kit was going to be the third kit? So going to lose many $ spending it on 2 jerseys a season. I think that's the point.

I've read the reactions of other gooners and it was funny to say the least. Ah wells. I suppose if you like the blue one, you'll like the white one. The only thing I have against white is it being claimed as Sp*rs colour but our jersey is so much more awesome.

And I guess we could be at least a wee bit thankful, looking at what's around us.

These two are examples of wearing the colour blue, at it's worst. Everton added a fake cleavage. Chelsea added breat plates. They could almost wear bras instead.

Hence we should be thankful. I think ours does look quite classy and if all else fails, at least our home kit is friggin awesome.
