And then, thank you Cesc Fabregas.
So, I waited till now to celebrate an earlier result, from last night.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA CHELSEA.
You see, if we didn't beat Villa, it would be pointless to be happy about Chelsea drawing.
But we have. I am proud of the boys.
Villa has taken the scalp of Chelsea, Man Utd and Liverpool (at this point, I don't think we need to bother about them). They don't have Arsenal's. That's a really good thing.
Villa matched us pretty well after the first 5 minutes where the boys started well. As the game wore on, they got tired. The lads trained over Christmas and were focused, and that's all down to how Arsene Wenger operates. Then Cesc came on and the team stepped up a gear and Villa simply couldn't cope.
Finally, a sign of a top top team that can challenge for the title.
I thought Wenger has became a lot less patient with his subs. Before, he would give the players on the pitch more time to make something happen. Sometimes, that proved a little too late to really change the game. So thank you for putting players on early, players that have the flair to create something magical. It was 28 minutes of magic, enough for the man of the match award I reckon.
And then there's Diaby. We've all asked for a little more consistency and he really showed up. Outstanding. Even in the absence of Cesc, he was the man driving the team forward and Denilson and Song supported him nicely. The midfield trio are really gelling together and you have another 3 goals to credit the centre of midfield for.
Thank you for the sweet Christmas present Arsenal.
I hope Cesc didn't aggravate his injury and the team gets pumped for Portsmouth.
