28 Days to kick off
What am amazingly long hiatus, one that is set to continue, unnanounced, much.

But yeah, it gets boring having to analyse transfer nonsense when it's really, just pure nonsense.

What's new is that Adebayor should be off to Man City and we should get a good deal of $ from that to buy our much needed midfield enforcer.

What BBC reports keep emphasising is that if Ade makes the move, Citeh would have bought 3 players from the top 6 clubs. Should have included that Man U didn't get a cent for Tevez. Anyway, they still have a lot more rotting in the bank from the Ronaldo transfer. A pity Benzema snubbed them. At this point, it doesn't really matter to consider if Arsenal stood a chance too, had Wenger been aware of his availability.

Other than all this, pre-season is officially starting today with the routine friendly match at Underhill.

Tomas Rosicky is set to play.

After being out for such a long time.

I got the 2008/09 season review already and it made me so pissed watching it. It is without a doubt, compiled by a gooner which makes it more infuriating. I mean, they even showed Adebayor kissing the badge after scoring the meaningless penalty in the Emirates Cup. And then there was the way Stoke City injured all our players in the game they won 2-1. Followed by all the draws and the misery. I couldn't get past the first half of the season because I was too pissed to continue on, granted, when I reach the month of January Andrei appears. Never did I realise how huge that glimmer of hope was. If he never came it could be a whole different ending to the season.

That was one hugely intelligent piece of transfer dealing. And he's the one player who turned our entire season around.

What remains to be seen now is how he will impact the club from start to finish, in every competition. Arsha's a winner and he will be a star. Adebayor can leave and we would not be short in the attacking department. With the absence of the Adebayor kind of striker, Arsha can be then deployed in free role behind the striker, a striker who bothers working hard to get the ball while being intelligent enough to stay onside and be in the right place to receive a sneaky pass to break the offside trap etc etc. We have poachers like that who want to play for the Arsenal.

All we need now to to get that midfield general to partner Cesc and everything else will fall into their places.

At the beginning of the season review they show you all the players who have departed and it really was a good indication of how huge a step backwards it was for the club. Hleb we all celebrated his departure. Even if he has been with us last season, it would be no different. Flamini was the most painful, and Gilberto would have been the difference. An older head and a accomplished player. Our fortunes would be so different.

It is as though transfer dealings is a game of roulette. Sign the right player (including contract renewals, evidently) and leg go of the right player and it can make or break your season.

It is interesting to note how many centre backs we have at the club now since no one has departed with the addition of Thomas Vermaelen.

This time, letting go of the right player means Silvestre. I don't think he'll be very happy to be on the bench since it is clear that even Alex Song is ahead of him for that central defensive spot. The fans do not like him and Arsene Wenger could well be defiant once more and keep him.

So, till more happening news. I totally am going to be away for the bulk of August with at least 3 trips out of town and another routine one, to my favourite Hong Kong. I'll get my jerseys and training kits on the cheap once again. A pity I haven't found anywhere that does shirt printing too. If you had to ask if I were buying fake jerseys you ought to receive a smack on the head, a real hard one. There is no point in fake kits. Might as well get a plain white Tee and spray paint Arsenal across the chest area and wear it out. Save me all the trouble while the world will know of my allegiance.

Now to pray that the typhoons continue to be absent.
