humiliating result, but I pray it sends the right signals
Now seriously. That was terrible. It has little significance though. 2 months ago if 4th spot was offered to us regardless of whatever result and humiliation the team has to weather we would have taken it.

Now everyone hyped up stealing 3rd spot from a heartbroken Chelsea and I didn't really see it happening but still went along.

All I can say is that I really hate 4-5-1. Everytime I see the squad lining up that way it really sucks.

Nothing much to say about the Chelsea game really. We started like we wanted to win but wasn't clinical enough. The point is, being not clinical enough is way better than not creating enough chances. There is a huge difference between the two.

I'm kinda glad they threw the game. Well the boys didn't exactly do that. I wasn't really pissed or anything by the margin of the defeat since defending was diabolical once again and it isn't anything new. When someone like Malouda wins man of the match it pretty sums up how bad the defence was.

This could finally send signals to the boss that the defence requires reinforcements. The press talks up Sakho and I haven't seen him play but he rocks in Football Manager ahahaha.

And then the 21 match unbeaten run is finally over. Frankly, I am not a huge fan of an unbeaten run especially since 0-0 draws and 4-4 draws are included. I am only a fan of winning streaks. So glad that is long over.

We could lose to Man Utd and the boss says he doesn't understand why because we're unbeaten in 21 games in the league. Doesn't take a genius to know that league form really do not matter in a European cup game, not that Arsene Wenger isn't a genius. This unbeaten run has always been lurking at the back of his head, perhaps giving false signals that the squad is good enough when it clearly isn't.

Plus, after Arsenal beat Chelsea 2-1 at the bridge earlier in the season he thought everything would be okay.

Boooo.

So the squad needs new additions so the boss has to consult his scouts or whatever and get it done. I'm sick of being disappointed. Surely he could keep up his ethos about youth but these youngsters need someone ahead of them to learn from and not be thrown on the pitch to die.

And the experience of Chelsea showed today, where you don't have to be on top of your game to be 2-0 up. Of course, from there they played better. This is trying to say that they're damn tyco in a nice way, the same way your form teacher says you're opinionated in your report book to cover up the fact that you talk too damn much in class.

I think that appeared in my report book year after year. Those were the days.

A good example of mentorship with an (arguably) experienced player in front of him is Gibbs and Clichy. And Gibbs was fantastic. It was a wonderful way to bounce back from midweek and he did fantastic. I think the 2 remaining games could mean more experience for him to earn while Clichy has started his summer holidays pre-maturely.

And now, finally, everyone appreciates Almunia between the sticks. There is without a doubt, that the game could be much different if he had played. At least Malouda wouldn't score against him.

There better be changes being rung come next season when the summer is over. Plenty of time to take stock and make things right.
