Absentees set for returns at crucial time
I blog at the weirdest hours. At least it isn't freakin 4am now as usual. Or 5am.

I realised later, rather than sooner, that when I past the 2am mark and am awake, I can't sleep till it's daybreak.

Yesterday morning I flipped the channels and found Barney & Friends at 6.30am. There was Mickey Mouse too. Tom & Jerry's at 7. And I watched the Discovery programme on Gladiators of ancient Rome. It was fascinating at 8 in the morning. Gladiators are like slaves in the class system of old yet they were like celebrities, sort of like our modern day footballers, except that our Arsenal dudes aren't slaves. The emperor built the gladiator quarters and training ground out of marble and it's amazing how these people, being at the bottom are treated almost like royalty. And they enjoyed the sport. Statistics showed that in some parts of Italy a third of the gladiators were actually free commoners who signed their rights away to become gladiators out of passion.

And then I knocked out for a mere 4 hours of shut-eye and I was up again. I have a sleep problem I don't know how to cure without medication.

Back to football. It's good news in the injury room. You get the feeling that for Arsenal, it seems like one after another all the damn freakin time. First we had all the issues in midfield and then Cesc went out for a long long time. We were tortured by the midfield which provided no cover for the defence and no guile in our attack. And then it improved, Alex Song became magnificent with Cesc back bossing the midfield. Nevermind that the boss chooses to play him out of position in the hole.

We were getting back to full strength with the close season looking stronger and stronger then one by one, the personnel in the defence fell one by one, leaving Toure the lone survivor. He didn't win a million dollars for that but a partnership with Silvestre we've all come to loathe. As much as we love Toure and pushed all the blame to Silvestre, Toure too had a large part to play. We're all just more critical about Silvestre for obvious reasons. Fan analysis can never be 100% objective eh? Anyway, our defence is just non-existent. In the last 2 games we've been punished by 6 retarded goals. Seriously. I can't believe Chelsea sluts and Liverpool thumb suckers are so happy about their goals which contained little or no technical quality. The Torres goals stand out the most out of the lot but that's about it. All a bunch of cheap goals we wouldn't concede had Gallas, Sagna, Clichy and Almunia been in the defence. Cheap goals give rise to cheap thrills on the part of the sluts and thumb suckers. The later more heartbroken though, even mastering the stupidity of criticising Arshavin's goal celebrations. That's 4 for you, and I will never get tired of repeating.

And Benitez with his hand gestures. Do you know what his body shape resembles?

The panda not the mouse.

And he is as comical as a cartoon character with all his inappropriate gestures. After he put pen to paper a new 5 year deal he feels so darn invincible he doesn't need to give a shit about anything. Retard. Kiss the league trophy goodbye because United just won again. If I had to choose, I'd choose United for title even though they don't deserve it. Nothing much to remember about their recent performances. They play shitty yet still come away with a win. But whatever. The thumb suckers can mope and cry like they always do and there'll be world peace.

So yes, Almunia and Djourou are close to returns, with Adebayor probably having to face a late fitness test. Robin is out until the return leg of the Champion's league and that's rather horrifying. It just means more 4-5-1s and Denilson playing. Nothing can horrify me more at this point than Denilson and Diaby in the team. They just spell trouble. Everytime I see Diaby playing I tell myself that he can score goals to comfort myself and he plays like shit. Self-soothing never works does it? There isn't anything potentially comforting about Denilson. Nothing. Completely nothing.

I'm completely evil here but why doesn't he get injured? Does he have God-empowering fitness or he simply doesn't try hard enough? Why are our best performers forever and ever in and out of the treatment room?

They're all good Daddies who are faithful to their wives. They're not like Frank Lampard who knocks up his girlfriend twice just to drive her away by his infidelity. They're unlike Sp*rs whom I'm convinced, had Danielle Lloyd sleep with the entire team. They do charities and let people draw their caricatures on a car to raise funds for the Cancer Society. And come on, even Alex Song has 2 kids. We're 22 and I have none.

I need to redirect good karma in their direction.

Anyway, I didn't realise we aren't playing on Saturday. That's extra rest from the Liverpool game, but less for the Man Utd one. I suspect there'll be rotation. Anyhow, Almunia will play if fit. Fabianski can sit on the bench with his head held high. Liverpool fired 14 shots at him and he saved 10, unlike Reina who had 4 at him and saved none. I think we might see a bit of Eduardo whose could play a big part in our Champion's league campaign as well.
